Website Update August 2025

I am delighted to tell you that I have now updated the website so that from now on I can share individual properties, one by one, as soon as I find them - no more waiting and no more lists of properties. This was, beyond question, what most of you wanted me to do.
I don't have a team of developers here - I do everything myself - so I'm quite proud of this upgrade! I will be able to start adding individual properties within the next few days.
New layout and menu
If you visit the site now, you will see a new layout, and new menu items for properties For Sale, SSTC, and Sold, as well as an archive for all the old Digest posts.
- Just as before, if you are a member of the public or a free subscriber, you will only be able to see Public posts or perhaps a few words at the top of a Paid-members only post.
- Now, however, the main images at the top of each Paid-members only post will be greyed out, or hidden completely on individual property pages.
- If you are a paying subscriber you'll be able to see all the text and images, but you'll need to log in first. No password is required - just click Account and follow the simple instructions.
Too many emails?
As I start adding properties, you may find that the number of posts you are getting a bit overwhelming.
- You have the option to unsubscribe from emails (whilst retaining full access to the website). You can easily re-subscribe later.
- You could also consider setting up your emails to automatically funnel all Canalside Homes posts into their own folder.
Subscribing to smaller sub-groups
Whist this is now technically possible, I want to concentrate on getting the basics working before I do anything too fancy. So, to start with, I am not going to add sub-categories (e.g. price bands), and there won't be much extra detail in the posts. However, I hope to add these features later - watch this space.
Advertising
I have updated the information about advertising on the website to reflect these changes. There is now just one type of advertising: Sponsoring a property to make it public and add more details and photos.
Testers welcome
Hopefully everything will work as it should, but if you spot any errors, e.g. you have, or don't have, access to the posts you expect, please let me know. Fingers crossed!
